Specialist Internal Medicine
Head of Department

The Austin Vet Specialists is a new veterinary specialist centre in Adelaide, South Australia. As an independent centre, we have the freedom and flexibility to do things our way (for example: we named our centre after our cat!).

As our growth continues, it is time to expand our services. An exciting opportunity has opened for a Head of Internal Medicine to join our team.

(And if you’re not sure about moving to South Australia – read on, I guarantee you will be tempted)

About the role:

The Austin is looking for a Specialist Internal Medicine (FANZCVS, ECVIM, ACVIM) who is passionate about patient care and leading/building a department.

Are you ready for the next step in your career?

We are offering the freedom to design and shape a medicine department to your liking. We have a dedicated medicine area which is ready to be occupied. We want to be a force for change with a proper work-life balance (no weekends or public holidays), referral work only (no ER), excellent financial reward (including equity if desired) and the possibility to shape this role to your liking. Are you ready for the next step in your career?

You will have complete freedom to design your bespoke role and involvement.

So if you have big ideas – excellent, we love it! Let’s chat - we want to hear all about them!

How we work

Adelaide is a fantastic place to live, with emphasis on ‘live’. The lifestyle is unparalleled to other Australian cities. It enjoys a Mediterranean climate and has all the amenities you could desire from a city of 2 million people (including outstanding schools), but also has the most amazing beaches (west facing so sunsets!). Ten minutes outside the city you will find the scenic Adelaide Hills with free-roaming kangaroos and koalas as well as the world-renown wineries in the Barossa Valley and Maclaren Vale. An abundance of National Parks are within a lazy drive from Adelaide. Real estate is cheap with ample opportunity to live on the beach, or have that house in the country.

Come for a fixed period of time or stay longer – the choice is yours. We understand family needs and travel needs, so everything is open for discussion…talk to us and see.
